About the Pandas:
The Silver Pandas made their debut in 1983. The first three years saw Proof quality coins with limited mintages of 10,000 pieces per year. Although 1986 had no Silver Pandas, they have been struck annually since. Each year brings a fresh panda design, adding to their collectible allure. An exception was 2002, which retained the same design as 2001.
The People’s Republic of China stands behind the quality of each Silver Panda coin. Multiple mints across China produce these coins, including locations like Shenzhen, Shanghai, and Shenyang. Unlike the U.S. Mint, these Chinese mints do not employ mint marks to distinguish their coins. Instead, they are known for subtle design variations, such as font size, bamboo length, and temple designs in specific years of minting.
